Canadian e-Navigation Roadmap
Canadian Coast Guard, in collaboration with other federal government departments engaged in e-Navigation and industry partners, have identified five national e-Navigation priorities.
The priorities are (in no particular order):
- Implementation of electronic aids to navigation
- Digitalization of marine services
- Realization of cyber security requirements
- Emergence of autonomous vessels
- Modernization of vessel traffic management
Based on these priorities, a Roadmap of e-Navigation Initiatives was created for Canada and is now available on the e-Navigation Portal. By clicking on each element, you will see a description of the item, as well as the end goal of the initiative. Following a period of engagement with stakeholders, each region has selected a few initiatives to highlight as regional priorities, available for viewing by selecting a region in the dropdown list.
Information about Canada’s S-100 Products can also be found in the S-100 Product specification glossary.
The roadmap is an evergreen document, and will be continuously updated as technologies and resources change. Keep an eye on this page for the most current version of the roadmap!
Any comments on the roadmap may be directed to DFO.CCGENAV-ENAVGCC.MPO@dfo-mpo.gc.ca.
All information is provided by the Canadian Coast Guard and the regulatory impact of each element is under investigation.
