Ice forecasts for the Great Lakes issued by Environment Canada at
12:00 P.M. EDT Sunday 19 April 2026 for today tonight and Monday.
The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 12:00 P.M. Monday.

Western Lake Superior.
Open water except 2 tenths very thick lake ice in Thunder Bay and
along parts of the northwestern shore. 7 tenths rotten thick lake
ice in Chequamegon Bay and near Duluth. Consolidated very thick lake
ice in Black Bay and Nipigon Bay and in northeastern Thunder Bay. 

Eastern Lake Superior.
Open water except 2 tenths thick lake ice along parts of the
southern and eastern shores. Consolidated rotten thick lake ice
along parts of the southern shore. 

Whitefish Bay.
2 tenths thick lake ice. Consolidated rotten thick lake ice in
sheltered bays. 

North Channel.
Consolidated rotten thick lake ice. 

Northern Lake Huron.
Open water except 1 tenth thick lake ice in strips and patches near
the Straits of Mackinac and near North Channel. Consolidated rotten
thick lake ice along parts of the northwestern shore. 

Southern Lake Huron
Lake St. Clair
Lake Erie
Lake Ontario.
Ice free. 

Georgian Bay.
Open water except 2 tenths thick lake ice along parts of the
northeastern shore. Consolidated rotten thick lake ice along parts
of the northeastern shore. 

Northern Lake Michigan.
Open water except 2 tenths thick lake ice in Little Traverse Bay. 

Southern Lake Michigan.
Ice free. 

Green Bay.
Open water. Consolidated rotten thick lake ice in Bays de Noc.
